SuperThrift has been a very challenging part of my time with Teen Challenge. I was a part of the initial team who saw our SuperThrift store open and grow into the fine establishment it is today. I run the cash register, meaning I get to represent Teen Challenge to everyone who walks through the door. I enjoy the opportunity to share my testimony or simply give a warm greeting or smile.
I’ve learned at SuperThrift the importance of working with God, and not just for God. One of the details of my job is straightening the clothes on the rack. Amid the daily jumble and hard work, I picked up the saying, “I found God in between the hangers.” It was in these moments, amid the long hours, trial and error, and team building challenges, that I drew close to God, and He drew near to me. He taught me over the years and with Teen Challenge the blessings that come from long-suffering and the value of holding my post until my duty is complete.
“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them” (Hebrews 6:10).
